Happy Halloween! So, I had to post this set today that I saw on the “Drawn!” blog. These speed paintings of classic horror monsters are just beautiful. The picture links to the DeviantArt gallery where the set of 13 paintings can be seen in all its spooky splendor, with artist commentary under each one.

One more day ’til Halloween! Hopefully you all have your costumes already. Starting this year I’m going to start my campaign to make October 30th the “funny/sexy” Halloween night, and October 31st the “scary” Halloween night. Sexy nurses and Super Mario Bros and celebs and costumes with sexual puns aren’t exactly what Halloween is for, though costumes like those can be creative, so let’s split them up! I would love to go to a Halloween party that looks like the “Thriller” video. That would be grand. Who’s in? I’ll have a petition up soon (for next year, of course).
Hey, it’s almost Halloween! How about reading a dark short story? It’s here! Grab it up! It’s a shorter short story, 14 pages double-spaced, so it reads quickly. Just make sure to read it in the dark (with some sort of lighting, of course, or night-vision goggles if you have them).
Hey, it’s Wednesday! So I’m partial to PumpkinHead, so I put a drawing of him up on the Facebook Fan Page. Click it to see the larger version.
Also, the clock is ticking on nominating your favorite comics for the Webcomic Readers’ Choice Awards for 2009. October 31st is the last day! Click there to go and nominate your favorite webcomics for whichever categories you see fit.
Halloween approaches… New comic Friday!
In a post a few days ago, I showed an oil painting I did a while back that I called “The Hat.” You may be more acquainted with him as the host of the monsters’ party. The problem was, though that I could only find a small, thumbnail version of it.
Click this image for a larger version if you’d like to see more detail. Unfortunately, I took this photo with a flash on the camera, so much of the black is reflected back as a glare, which diminishes the full effect of the painting. I’m working on taking some new photos, so you can see it in its natural form, and will have this for sale as a poster in the coming weeks (along with other store goodies).
Also, if you’re an EQComics Fan on Facebook, you saw this sketch of PumpkinHead yesterday. More where that came from.
