I don’t belive Ahab was racist, or if he was he didn’t allow it to get in the way of his hiring habits. As I recall the man the main character meet in the inn at the begining of the book was African and was hired by Ahab.
Thats funny, I am a 17 year old and read Moby Dick in middle school from the library. It makes me worry that no one else younger than me would get this joke.
